AMAG –
AMAG
Technology is one of the security industry’s leading manufacturers of
card and biometric access control systems, with over 30 years
experience in providing state-of-the-art products worldwide. AMAG is
part of Group 4 Technology, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Group 4
Securicor, one of the world’s largest security companies.
In
1970, Group 4 produced their first access control system in Europe and
since then has been at the leading edge of technological advances in
access control. They introduced their first microprocessor system in
1983, which has proved so reliable that it is still being supported
today. Their first DOS-based PC system was launched in 1987, and since
then the multiMAX brand has been installed in thousands of government
and commercial installations throughout Europe and the Middle East.
In
1990, Group 4 purchased American Magnetics Corporation (AMC), based in
Carson, California (USA). AMC had pioneered magnetic-stripe card
technology in 1971 and developed their own AMAG™ brand access control
systems in 1985. AMC quickly became a leading manufacturer in the
Americas, Far East and Pacific Rim, supplying products to over 150
companies in the USA alone.
Group 4 recognized that AMC's
expertise, reputation, and depth outside of their own core markets of
Europe and the Middle East provided an ideal opportunity to expand
their access control presence worldwide. Combining a leading access
control product with Group 4's unique worldwide experience has resulted
in a global network of installers with the expertise and in-depth
knowledge necessary to comply with countries' varying requirements and
regulations for access control.
In 1997, American Magnetics'
name was changed to Group 4 Securitas Technology Corporation. A major
milestone was reached in 1999 when Group 4's AMAG brand Access Control
System was selected for installation in the Pentagon. Since then, AMAG
has been involved in some of the world's largest and most complex smart
card and biometric access control projects for both public and private
entities.
In February of 2003, the company's name was changed
to AMAG Technology. Also that year, AMAG reintroduced its product line,
scaled to the needs of small, remote facilities and multinational
organizations alike. AMAG products feature open-architecture standards
and are compliant with Windows 2000 and XP operating systems. AMAG,
through technology partnerships with best-of-breed security product
developers, offers an expanding range of modules to enhance the
capabilities of its AMAG access control systems. The modules include
Digital Video Management, Smart Card Encoding, Biometrics, Intrusion
Alarms, Intercom Management, etc. AMAG also offers one of the only
access control products that supports the federal government's
SEIWG-012 physical access control credential standard.
AMAG is
a leading security systems integrator. AMAG products are forming the
"head-end" in a new generation of Integrated Security Systems based
around access control, digital video, alarms management, smart cards,
biometrics and other related technologies.
AMAG Technology,
Inc., is part of Group 4 Securicor, one of the world's largest security
companies, employing over 340,000 people in more than 100 countries and
posting annual revenues of US $6 billion.

The intensive research and development from this
program produced many technological discoveries and breakthroughs,
including the technology that led to the development of one of the
security industry's first intelligent access control panels.. and the
creation of Galaxy Control Systems.
The same results-driven
culture that made Digital an exemplary defense contractor is mirrored
at Galaxy Control Systems today. We pride ourselves, not only on the
quality of our products, but also on the quality of our employees. It

Honeywell/Northern Computers –
Northern
Computers is the leading authority and largest manufacturer/supplier of
access control and integrated security solutions Worldwide. Our
inception into the access control industry began in 1982 and was the
first company to offer PC based access control software.
During
the 90s, Northern Computers went from strength to strength, with new
products being continually developed and revised as technology
advanced. Northern's pioneering work has contributed to industry growth
in the field of access control.
In December 1998 Northern
Computers was successfully incorporated into the Chicago based Pittway
Corporation, the World's leading manufacturer and distributor of
security and fire systems, with revenues in excess of $2 billion. Their
products are marketed globally under the Ademco, Microtech, VCL,
Intellisense, Notifier, System Sensor and other popular brand names.
The acquisition of Northern Computers strategically filled a large gap
in the overall Ademco product line and significantly enhanced Pittway's
commitment to build a World class integrated systems business.
In
February 2000, Honeywell, a $24 billion diversified technology and
manufacturing leader, successfully completed the acquisition of the
Pittway Corporation. The acquisition, which was integrated into
Honeywell's Home and Building Control business, combines Honeywell's
expertise in systems integration and HAVC controls with Pittway's
product and distribution strength in the rapidly growing $10 billion
fire and security industries.
Today, Northern Computers
continues to fill the needs of the Electronic Access Control market by
offering a range of products and services that provide a full featured
security solution serving any size facility, using the most
comprehensive access control software and hardware available in the

has always been a technology leader. Since it first began supplying
access control systems to the security industry in 1978, the company
has accumulated an impressive list of industry firsts, not the least of
which was the development of the first 32-bit application software for
access control a full 10 years before any other company in the market,
and the implementation of the first Enterprise (Multiple Server)
software solution for access control, a full three years before any
other company. This wealth of experience has earned us a reputation for

cost-effective access control solutions for small to mid-sized
businesses. Kantech's Entrapass software family, KT series controllers,

Keri Systems –
Keri
is the only company that specializes in both access control systems and
standalone readers which gives us unmatched expertise for the entire
access control industry.
By designing cost-effective, easy to
install and use products, Keri Systems has become one of the fastest
growing card access control systems manufacturers in the world. The
original founder of Indala Corporation (now Motorola/Indala), the early
pioneers and market leaders in digital proximity readers and proximity
cards, started Keri Systems in 1990. Located in the heart of
California's famed Silicon Valley, the company draws on the area's
wealth of technological expertise and security industry professionals
to bring superior price/performance products to the card access control
systems market. Keri products are available worldwide through a network
of dealers and distributors, and Keri's core products all carry the CE
Mark for approval in European Economic Community member countries.
In
the early years, Keri Systems designed and sold stand-alone single
door-only card access control systems. Keri now manufactures card
access control systems for managing 1 to 256 doors at a single site and
thousands of doors over multiple sites, specializing in proximity
technology, but also with the ability to use any Wiegand™ card reader
technology. A proximity reader-based system from Keri typically costs
50% less than proximity reader-based systems from other popular
suppliers.
Keri's new PXL-500 Tiger Controller platform has
made these cost savings possible. Loaded with high tech features like
multiple RISC-based microprocessors, plug and play functionality, and
on-board diagnostics, the Tiger system not only costs less from an
equipment standpoint, it saves on the total installed cost of an access
control system project because of the great installer features built
in. Your system can be expanded one or two doors at a time as needed,
and each controller maintains 100% fully distributed intelligence.
Keri's
card reader expertise is proximity, now considered the technology of
choice by end users everywhere. The MS Series Proximity Readers, for
use exclusively on Keri Controllers, combine superior performance and
low cost in small, sleek attractive packages. Keri offers three
proximity card/tag styles, including the smallest and most durable key
ring tag available. All Keri proximity products (except the Multi
Technology cards) carry a lifetime warranty. For those customers who
require something other than Keri proximity, the PXL-250 Tiger
Controller also interfaces with Wiegand™ reader technologies.
The
system is managed by the critically acclaimed Doors™ for use with
Windows™ program, which is unparalleled in terms of ease of use and
will continue to grow in functionality. Doors has all the
sophistication you need, but is designed to be used by real people, not
rocket scientists. A dedicated computer is not required, and in fact
the PC does not need to be online for system operation.
Keri
will continue its pursuit of technological and market leadership with
the introduction of more exciting new access control system products
and proximity readers as well as enhancements to existing products.
