Access Control – Access control systems allow you to decide who goes through which doors in a building and at what times. The access range starts with a simple system for up to two doors and moves through to sophisticated multi-site computer based systems. A range of reading technologies can be used on all systems including proximity, magnetic stripe, hands free, infrared and Smart Card. Readers can be fitted into new or existing door entry systems or surface mounted using vandal resistant stainless steel readers. All readers can be used internally or externally. By linking the access control system to a computer, additional facilities such as flexible searching and reporting, full on-line help, alarm monitoring graphics, and time and attendance can be provided. The system can also be used to monitor fire doors, lifts and unauthorized entry to restricted areas.

Video Surveillance/CCTV – The problem of attempting to meet the costs incurred as a result of vandalism to property and buildings is all too familiar and cameras have proven themselves over recent years as a means of deterrent and detection. As technology has improved, the versatility of such equipment has become virtually limitless, offering added security in either high profile or covert locations or establishments which might otherwise be considered vulnerable. Images from multiple cameras can be displayed on a single monitor using multiplexers or switches and time lapse video recorders can record all events from multiple cameras over a daily or weekly period. Surveillance systems can be remotely monitored and controlled to allow panning, tilting and zooming of cameras and additional standard or infrared lighting can be provided to improve picture quality during periods of poor light. Covert cameras can be disguised as everyday objects such as clocks, mirrors or smoke detectors or hidden completely using pinhole technology and video pictures can be displayed directly onto personal computers to give live or instant pictures during alarm conditions. Displaying pictures onto personal computers removes the need for additional monitors and allows word-processing, spreadsheets, etc. to be used while viewing the camera in the background with the option of full screen pictures and printing or saving to disk for later viewing.

Fire and Life Safety – Access and egress go hand in hand. Access control is achieved at any entry point, and life safety is assured so that everyone can exit a building quickly in case of fire or emergency. IR Security & Safety has stand-alone and networked capabilities to answer the different requirements of egress. Stand-alone applications include touchbar exit devices. Alarmed exit devices provide notice when someone is leaving a room where theft might be an issue. Delayed egress devices provide monitored exit. Networked egress includes hardware and software that also provides for time and attendance and personnel scheduling.
